2016 Summer Reading Program

ON YOUR MARK, GET SET… READ!

ShowImageSummer is upon us and with this great season comes one of our favorite programs, the summer reading program, where you get to earn prizes for doing what you would be doing anyway… reading!

OUR KICKOFF EVENT will be on June 16 at 1 pm with Charley Brown, a hilarious multi-talented performer who blends absurd comedy and technical feats to create a memorable experience for everyone!

Then our summer heats up at the Library on Thursdays at 10 am with a Family Read & Do Time, followed by the performer at 11 am. Children and their parents are encouraged to attend! A free lunch for those 17 years and younger is offered at 12:30.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS:

    • Register with the library after the last day of school and receive a Reading Log form on which to keep the titles of the books you read.
    • If you read at least 10 books, you are eligible to receive a Summer Reading Program t-shirt; read 20 books and you will also receive a Summer Reading Program book bag.
    • Read the books you wish to read at your grade level. For pre-readers, a parent may read to you and each book can be counted.
    • The library will be offering a variety of programs and contests all summer so drop-in as often as possible.
