2018 Summer Reading Program

2018 Summer Reading Program

Summer is upon us and with this great season comes one of our favorite programs, the Summer Reading Program, where you get to earn prizes for doing what you would be doing anyway… reading!

OUR KICKOFF EVENT will be on June 21st at 10:30 am with Madam Chaos – Dirt-y Science! This exciting event is all about the science that happens underneath the ground! From layers of the earth to the critters that live in the soil to natural phenomena that occur underground, come and discover some amazing things if we dig deep!

See our schedule of events below!

AND DON’T FORGETIn partnership with Sodexho, the library is offering a free lunch each weekday throughout the summer!

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS:

  • Register with the library and receive a Reading Log form on which to keep the titles of the books you read.
  • If you read at least 10 books, you are eligible to receive a Summer Reading Program t-shirt; read 20 books and you will also receive a Summer Reading Program book bag.
  • Read the books you wish to read at your grade level. For pre-readers, a parent may read to you and each book can be counted.
  • The library will be offering a variety of programs and contests all summer so drop-in as often as possible.
