Happy Birthday Toledo Public Library! Grant Gruber-Condon Family Fund awards $500
The Toledo Public Library is pleased to announce the receipt of $500 from the Gruber-Condon Family Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation. The award is made in honor and recognition of the role of Alice Gruber, Jan Edmondson, Peggy Taylor and Toledo Civic Club members which operated the library until the city recognized the need for a stable city library. The community owes a debt of gratitude to these visionary and dedicated women who housed the budding collection in their homes and made it their job to guide the library into existence. We would like to express gratitude to Cindy and Richard Condon of Salem for this generous and thoughtful award. The funds will be used to promote programming and develop our collection.
The City of Toledo offers an excellent small town library! We have just what you need to help you find the books and materials you need in town, in the county, in the state, and around the world through the Chinook Library Network, a cooperative including public and community college libraries, and our extensive interlibrary loan program.
