Code Enforcement

Code Enforcement responds to citizen complaints by determining if a violation has occurred, alerting the responsible party that they are in violation, and enforcing compliance through the legal process.

It is the responsibility of the Code Enforcement Officer to enforce compliance of any civil infraction codes of the City, including development, land use, nuisance codes, etc. Other complaints may also include:

  • Parking violations 
  • Abandoned vehicles
  • Properties that are overgrown or dangerously deteriorated
Enforcement of nuisance and development code issues is performed on a complaint basis. We strive for consistency and professionalism and attempt to be timely in responses to all interactions. However, we have limited staff and must make public health and safety complaints a priority.
